For years, Israel helped Turkey with rescue missions and logistics after earthquakes struck that country. Diplomatic, security and economic cooperation flourished, and Turkish officials would visit Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, where they thanked Allah for their wonderful friendship with the Jews.
But since the upheaval that put Muslim Brotherhood man and would-be sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan into power, Turkey – with help from Qatar – has been trying to cause an Islamist quake in Egypt (where it aims to overthrow President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi), in the Gulf states, and in Israel, mainly Jerusalem.
While the world is focused on Iran's nuclear aspirations, international leaders are ignoring Turkey's civil "nuclearization." Under Erdogan's leadership, Turkey is using Israel as a negative identifier. As part of his plan to spread Islamist ideology in his empire, Erdogan is fanning hatred of Israel in an attempt to unite the Muslim countries around him.
Following the events on the Temple Mount last Friday, where protesters shot fireworks at Israeli police, Istanbul is preparing for a second Islamic conference in support of Al-Aqsa mosque under the title: "The Prayer Podium at Al-Aqsa [is] for Preachers and Propagandists." Representatives of various Muslim countries are scheduled to attend the conference, which will confer a prize for "defending" Jerusalem on "Sheikh" Mehmet Gormuz, the former head of Turkey's Religious Affairs Directorate, who attacked Arab and Muslim countries that maintain ties with Israel.
As the Palestinians' schemes encounter one impasse after another, they are trying to recreate an apocalyptic interreligious conflagration on Al-Aqsa. This is how the Second Intifada erupted in 2000, after then-Likud party leader (and later Prime Minister) Ariel Sharon visited the Temple Mount. This itself followed the Western Wall tunnel events in 1996. After all this bloodshed, the Palestinian leaders are returning to their evil ways, and the brainwashed Palestinian public buries its dead without having achieved anything. Until next time.
Hamas' defeat in the Gaza Strip, Israel's nation-state law – which wiped out the dream of turning Israel into a Palestinian state of all its citizens – and the relocation of the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem have all set off the Palestinian-Islamist seismograph. With the support of Turkey and Qatar, the Palestinians are aiming to blow things up again, this time in an earthquake supposedly caused by Israel.
The fact that Islamic sources point to Israel and the Temple Mount as the eternal legacy of the Jewish people is of no interest to anyone. Even the ruling of 13th-century scholar and philosopher Sheikh Ibn Taymiyyah – seen as a spiritual authority by the Muslim Brotherhood – that making Jerusalem holy to Islam is heresy falls on deaf ears.
According to the Jordanian newspaper Kamal Zakarna, Israel is carrying out nuclear detonations to cause an earthquake that is supposed to destroy Al-Aqsa. Allah's representatives Sheikh Ikrama Sabri, Mufti Muhammad Hassan, Muslim Brotherhood official Kamal Hattab, and Archbishop of Sebastia Atallah Hanna all share the belief that there is a Zionist plot to demolish the mosque by creating an earthquake.
It seems that lies and tales of plots and schemes are stronger than the truth. The apocalyptic divine earthquake that will supposedly expose humanity's sins on Judgment Day is now another item on the Jews' impressive list of supernatural powers – another coup for the startup nation.
