Israel stands united in memory of fallen soldiers and terror victims

It's that time of the year in Israel, a time of remembrance. After the Holocaust memorial day and before Israel's Independence day, Israel will stop once again and remember the fallen soldiers and terror victims that paid the highest price of all.

Freedom is not free - in Israel we know that saying all too well. At the age of 18 every man and woman enlist in the army to serve their country knowing the risks involved.

Even after finishing mandatory army service, your duty to your country does not end. If and when Israel finds itself needing to defend itself once again, men and women will come forward as reserve soldiers without hesitation. This is what Israel is all about - and as we get ready to celebrate our 63rd Independence day, Israel is united in memory.

The following clip is dedicated to the IDF, the army of Israel. The song that plays in the background is known as "Million Stars". It was written in memory of Tom Farkash an Israeli fighter pilot that crashed with his helicopter during the 2nd Lebanon war in 2006. It is sang by Tom's 17 years old sister, Amit.

All of us in Giyus.org hope for peace and freedom for all. Israel is standing strong because of the men and women that defend it with their lives knowing it's the only home we have. We shall always remember those that paid the highest price to allow us to live freely in Israel.
