Footage of the liberation of both Yerushalayim on the 28 Iyar 5727, as well as Hevron which took place on the following day, 29th of Iyar. The music accompanying this of course is Naomi Shemer's Jerusalem of Gold (Yerushalayim shel Zahav) sung by Shuli Natan.

The Jordanian seizure of these areas in 1948 brought the Jewish presence of thousands of years temporarily to an end with the expulsion and ethnic cleansing of its Jewish population, as well as razing of communal institutions. However 19 years after the Jordanian occupation of Jerusalem, as well as Judea and Samaria, the Jewish people were able to return home. Then, now and forever.
