Dismayed and disgusted by Al Beeb’s perpetual bias against Israel, British lawyer Trevor Asserson, assisted by Israeli lawyer Elisheva Mironi, produced several successive reports over recent years, based on close scrutiny and systematic monitoring, which amply illustrate the extent of BBC imbalance and slant in favour of the Palestinians. Mr Asserson runs the website BBCWatch, which in an analysis of Jeremy Bowen’s coverage of Operation Cast Lead, found that of Bowen’s 58 broadcast reports between 28 December 2008 and 30 January 2009, 38 were unbalanced, most of the latter portraying Israel negatively. The analysis also alleged that Bowen’s online “Diary’” of events in Gaza, in which he frequently intruded his own opinion, breached BBC guidelines; of 22 entries in the ‘Diary’ 20 were biased against Israel. Mr Asserson, formerly of London but now based in Jerusalem, is featured in an interview this week:
