  1. I find it fascinating that the IDF chooses to use images of Orthodox soldiers praying, so give the impression that there is, inherent in the IDF, an aspect of religiosity and morality. Granted, for much of the IDF there is a genuine aspect of religiosity and morality not found in any other army in the world. What I find interesting is that the IDF turns this aspect of the Army on and off at will. When the military wants to turn on Jews they use specially developed units without religious Jews, even going so far recently as to use Arabs (most likely Muslims) to go out and demolish Jewish Homesteads.

The IDF is the best, and most moral fighting Military in the world, but the politicalization of the Military, using it to turn against the citizens of Israel, is wrong and amoral.

  2. A number of good points, as the choice reflects a number of changes that are taking place. It is a situation which is dynamic, and and should continue to develop in a positive direction. That doesn't mean there won't occur events that are distressing in the extreme, but in the big picture the change is noticeable, and will progress if worked at.
